The Cowichan Series
June 2019
The launch of The Cowichan Series, a collection of poetry and photography based on my time in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. For the launch, I invited poets, writers, and musicians to collaborate with me, to create or share a piece aligned with the themes and imagery of The Cowichan Series.
Artists: Wakefield Brewster, Weyman Chan, Darren Flach, Laurie Anne Fuhr, Jim Jackson, Miranda Krogstad,
Pamela Medland, and Julie Sedivy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izasAJJPdso (Geographies)

Jim Jackson created a CD of his music paired to my poetry. The music that accompanies these words was inspired from the forms and tone of these nature-bound, sensory poems.

The bones of an old land transcend a magnificent present, encompass a deep-rooted past, and retain hope despite an unknowable future. These poems and music are a reflection of that journey, both ephemeral and eternal. https://jimjackson.bandcamp.com/track/missing-woman
The Cowichan Series was #1 on the Calgary Herald Bestseller List.
